fahrenheit 9/11

some movie!
saw it today - got me thinking.
it is kind of a sad movie coz it shows how one man can cause the death and suffering of so many people.
the film is completely one sided- and i really do not think bush is that smart to plan smth like dat - also it's a bit far fetched even for a james bond movie or even for adham in ragol el mostaheel ( Mr. impossible - for all u non-egyptians out there - series of 007-like adventures where the hero gets shot 6 times and falls from the 10 floor and still manages to come out alive and runs out to save the damsel in distress he is madly in love with)
but it still got me thinking! i cried twice in the movie - when an iraki woman was crying over her family and when an american woman was crying over her son!
they stand on opposite fronts - yet face the same destiny - attending their own son's funeral! something i would never wish for my enemy!
and the same question arrises - why? whats the cause? its that cause worth all those shattered lives? is there no peaceful solution? wasn't it one of the world's greatest political leaders that said "peace cannot be achieved by foce, it can only be achieved by understanding"
another thing about the movie - life in irak was not as rosy as it was depicted! comon be realistic!
here's a question: are the western countries trying to make the rest of the world civilized or westernized?
who said that checks and banalces is the right way to go? democracy does not work in every country! and certainly not in a country that got no preparation for it.
in the US in the past there were restrictions for people who could vote - income and education were factors, so that the right people can have a say! who would want a simple peasent ruling?!
in some countries democracy just doesn't cut it! what about russo's "social contract" ( it was russo whasn't it?)?! that was a thought - we sign a contract we give up this for you and you do this for us!
playing devil's advocate here ( which i happen to do alot nowadays) which country is better off? who's people are not starving and who has the least illiteracy rate!! their way must be the right way if they are so successful!

not to get too carried away here
the film was funny - one sided - not credible at all - but got me crying, got me screaming and most importantly got me thinking

on that note - i have to mention how frustrated i feel for wearing bras and not boxers! then who knows i could have at least been able to dream about being president one day and change lives!
for now i can't even dare to dream
